Returned to Avis and was quickly promoted to Technical Lead of the team maintaining and enhancing the Revenue Management systems. These include an algorithm intensive demand forecasting and optimisation system, a broker price quoting system, using GridGain to distribute processing and a web based pricing application. All 3 projects use Java, SQLServer, Hibernate, Spring and JBoss.

Pivotal member of a leading revenue management agile development project within the car rental industry. During its first year of operation the project added £15 million to the company turnover, originally predicted to rise to £23 million in 2008. Project designed to predict demand and optimise revenue for car rentals. Windows based system written using Java, SQLServer, Hibernate, Spring and JBoss.

October 2001 – December 2005

Recruited at the start of a major revenue management project for Thomson Travel, involved in full life cycle from system design through to customer acceptance testing and implementation. Project designed to predict demand and optimise revenue for package holidays. Solaris based, batch system, using C++, Oracle and Roguewave SourcePro. Rational Rose is used for UML design and code generation.

Involved in a very large scale project for Revenue Management. The system provides availability calculations for seat allocation and overbooking on flights. Solaris based, 3-tier architecture using C++, Tuxedo, Oracle and Versant. Rational Rose is used again for UML design and code generation. Involved in full project lifecycle for this 3 phased project.

Worked for Petroleum Division, building systems to access data stored using the petroleum industry POSC data model. Open system designed to run on Windows NT, Solaris and AIX platforms, using either Sybase or Oracle database.
